Bunnies : the cat and dog alternative
Some children unfortunately become allergic to cats and dogs, and yet crave the fluffiness which no turtle or lizard can provide, and hamsters tend to be too squirmish have that ” cuddly” effect
For this reason, bunnies can be a good options. Rabbits may not be convetionally affectionate but have proven to be great companions for some.
Believe it or not rabbits can be litterbox trained and have a long life span of 7-10 years. Rabbit are actually quite sociable and can live indoors and some even purr when they are happy! Rabbits need to be neutered and while they do not like to be mollycoddled or carried they will enjoy sitting next to you. Like dogs bunnies need to chew things so have some chewtoys available. Bunnies also enjoy wire cat balls , cardboard boxes, baby keys and willow baskets.
So don’t fear , this might not be a dog but bunny rabbits can be a fun solution for a loving child!
